Presented by the WA Museum in association with the UWA Institute of Advanced Studies as part of the 'A History of the World in 100 Objects' exhibition.

Join expert presenters as they discuss the meaning and value of objects as an unwritten insight into human cultures across time, and the challenges for museums to preserve and communicate this through material culture.

Speakers include: Belinda Crerar and JD Hill from The British Museum, Alec Coles and Moya Smith from the WA Museum, Mat Trinca from the National Museum of Australia, Sven Ouzman, Peter Veth, and Jo McDonald from The University of Western Australia, Steven Tingay from Curtin University and Charmaine Green from the Yamaji Art Centre.

In addition to the symposium, the Insitute of Advanced Studies is pleased to offer a public lecture series to compliment the exhibition. Discover how humans have shaped the world and, in turn, have been shaped by it. More information and registration details are available on the website.
